Integrated Platform for Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh

Introduction:

The Integrated Platform for Department of Tourism was introduced by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to centralize and streamline various tourism-related services, including Tourism Unit Registrations, Grant of Various Subsidies and Incentives under Tourism Policy 2022, Star Classification of Hotels, Recognition of Tour & Travel Operators, and Infrastructure Schemes Management. Developed and implemented by OTPL, the objective was to create a unified digital interface for tourists, stakeholders, and government officials to enhance the overall experience and efficiency of tourism operations in the state. However, the implementation of such a large-scale system came with challenges, particularly in terms of coordination, integration with existing services, and real-time support.

Objective:

To develop an Integrated Platform for

  • Online Applications for New Tourism Unit Registration
  • Modules for Grant of Various Subsidies and Incentives under Tourism policy 2022
  • Online Application for Recognition of Tour & Travel Operators in Uttar Pradesh
  • Online Portal for Star Classification of Hotels & Resorts by UP Tourism
  • Module to collect Statistics of Tourists for Major Destinations in Uttar Pradesh
  • Infrastructure Scheme Management System for Monitoring the Infrastructure Projects under the Tourism Department
  • Portal for Recruitment of Research Scholars under CM Tourism Fellowship Program

A dedicated Project Management Unit (PMU) comprising 10 personnel is deployed to ensure seamless coordination, development, execution, and maintenance of the platform.

The portal was launched in April 2023.

  • Training and onboarding of tourism department officials across all 75 districts during the transition to digital systems.
  • Development of Login IDs and Passwords of 75 DTOs, 11 RTO/DDs, 26 Working Agencies and other officials related to department HQ.
  • Addressing real-time assistance and support to investors, department officials and officials from working agencies.
  • Integration of various services, including Tourism Unit registrations and various subsidies with UP Government portals as like Nivesh Mitra, E-district, DARPAN dashboard etc.
  • Coordination between multiple government agencies and private tourism stakeholders to ensure smooth digital transactions and service continuity.
